02.05.2020

The findings of our research project on companies' responsibility to prevent harmful online communication (HOC), conducted jointly with Sora Kim from CUHK, has been published in Policy & Internet. In the article we report how online content providers (OCPs) in four countries (USA, Germany, South Korea, China) moderate user‐generated content to prevent HOC.

The research combined content analysis of 547 HOC policy documents and interviews with 41 representatives of OCPs regarding the implementation of the policies. The research was funded by the Toyota Foundation. The open access publication of the article was made possible by the University of Vienna. You can read the article here.
