Univ.-Prof. Dr. Sabine Einwiller is the Professor of Public Relations Research at the University of Vienna’s Department of Communication and Head of the CCom Research Group. Since October 2022 she is also the Chair of the Department of Communication. Before joining Vienna’s Department of Communication she held a professor position at Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz (Germany), where she established the Master’s program in Corporate Communication and Public Relations. Prior to this appointment, Sabine Einwiller was a professor of Communication Management at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland and spent two years as a post-doctoral researcher in the United States (University of Southern California and Columbia University). Other previous positions of Sabine Einwiller include Head of the Center for Corporate Communication at the University of St. Gallen’s Institute for Media and Communications Management and Project Manager in the Public Relations Department at BASF SE.

Sabine Einwiller holds a doctorate degree in Business Adminstration from the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland) where she also finished her post-doctoral thesis (habilitation). In the 1990ies she studied Psychology at the University of Mannheim (Germany) and at the University of Western Ontario (Canada).

Sabine Einwiller has researched and published widely on topics of corporate communication and stakeholder psychology. In her research, she is mainly interested in the effects of corporate communication on their stakeholders, the management of stakeholder relationships and corporate reputation. In particular, her research focuses on the effects of negative publicity and crisis communication, complaint management, employee communication and reputation management and measurement. She has also consulted on these topics for various major corporations.
